I effectively create the illusion of a church with large front doors and when opened, large stained-glass windows with alter and a stained-glass window in the rear.
Egg cut with Juniorflex Diamond Horico blade,#H362F080. Retail cost $20.50each plus shipping from Artisian-Workshops.
After cutting the egg, I make a template out of card stock [1 1/2 times the needed size] for the table .
Cut fabric, fold over edges and use a running stitch, gathered for size & put aside.
Use exact proportions to cut a template for table out of card stock. I use iridescent stained glass for table.
After, enlarging the bottom hole to accommodate
Music box stem, I glue the music box inside the egg with silicone cement, after attaching stem [for placement] to allow for support and flexibility.
Glue in fabric.
Glue in table.
I also use silicone cement for table, since it is glass.
Every where else, is glued with Aleenes thick tacky glue.
I use individual crystals to create the crosses on the inside of the doors. I also use 2 shapes to create the cross for the alter [use silicone cement, since they are semi-precious stones].
String enough round amethyst to make a ring around the center cross.
You can get flatback crystals & pearls at:
You can get hinges at:
The base color is a mixture of blue and purple acrylic paints.
Put a blob of each in a dish side by side.
Dip brush in one then the other and spread on the egg, but not too much so the colors are almost individually defined.
When dry add the gold leaf and all the other things.
